As you will likely have seen, the COVID-19 Vaccination has been licensed for use within the UK. This National Program is being delivered by our Primary Care Network starting later this month. However, this first batch of vaccinations will be offered to some of the most vulnerable patients over 80 years of age in line with National Guidance. You will be contacted directly when you become eligible for vaccination and should respond at that time accordingly. Please do not contact the surgery to make an appointment unless you have been invited to do so.
Changes to Organ Donation Law
From Spring 2020, organ donation in England will move to an 'opt out' system. This means all adults in England will be considered to have agreed to be an organ donor when they die, unless they have recorded a decision not to donate or are in one of the excluded groups. You still have a choice if you want to be an organ donor or not when you die.

In April 2020, there were 44 missed appointments
If you cannot attend an appointment, please remember to cancel this as soon as possible so that it can be used for another patient.
E-Consult now available
E-Consult gives you the opportunity to request advice and treatment from the surgery online and get self-help advice for hundreds of common conditions.
Care Navigation saved 166 GP appointments last month!
In January 2020, our trained care navigators successfully directed nearly 500 patients to the most appropriate service for their problem. Of these, 166 were navigated to services other than the GP including Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacies, Opticians and Dentists. Care navigation ensures that patients see the most appropriate person for their problem, reducing unnecessary appointments with the GP and helping patients to get the care they need first time.
Spotting Cancer Early Saves Lives
If you notice something unusual, it is important to tell your Doctor. In most cases it will not be cancer but, if it is, finding it early can make a real difference.
There are some national cancer screening programmes in the UK, breast, bowel and cervical. You will receive your screening invitation, as well as information about the screening test. It is important that you read this so you can decide whether you would like to take part.
People become eligible for the different screening tests at different ages. There is a simple online tool at www.cruk.org/screening to see when you will be invited.
