They are able to examine you, request any necessary tests and prescribe any treatment if needed. You may be directed to seeing them if you ring for a &#8220;same day&#8221; appointment, although they do have access to discuss your care with a GP if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Emma Ivey (f)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Luis Illescas-Ruiz (m)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pharmacist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Practice Pharmacist supports the clinical team with any prescribing queries. They also complete the majority of medication reviews for our patients with repeat medication and is also trained in diabetes care, completing diabetic reviews for patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sotirios Sfakianakis (m)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Practice Nurses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Practice Nurses are fully trained in a wide range of skills including immunisations, health promotion, contraception and management of long-term conditions e.g. advise on diet and lifestyle choices, coronary heart disease, hypertension, asthma, diabetes, smoking cessation and obesity.&nbsp;Practice Nurses can extend their skills at Diploma Level and see many patients who previously would have seen the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nursing Team run various Nurse-led clinics for diabetes, asthma, coronary heart disease and COPD as well as providing general nursing services, dressings, removal of sutures and blood tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Diane Garcia-Miralles (f) SRN, ONC<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Judith Hutchieson (f) SRN<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Christina Ranson (f)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Donny Crozier (m)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Healthcare Assistants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Healthcare Assistants are non-registered Nursing staff who assist in&nbsp;patient care and Practice related duties, as&nbsp;directed by&nbsp;and under the supervision of a&nbsp;Registered Healthcare Professional (including Lead Practice Nurse, Practice Manager and GPs). Healthcare Assistants work collaboratively with the General Practice Team to&nbsp;meet the needs of&nbsp;patients, and provide essential task-orientated services like taking blood samples (phlebotomy), processing specimens, sometimes performing ECGs (to measure heart function) and spirometry (to measure lung function).&nbsp;They play a crucial role in supporting the Clinical Team, and may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lauren Ward (f)<\/strong> <strong>HCA<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mrs Sarah Ashburn (f)<\/strong> <strong>HCA<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nurse Practitioners Our Nurse Practitioner plays a key role in reviewing a range of ailments, such as chest infections, ear infections, abdominal pain and certain rashes.
